Pratibha Malav, Author of If Tomorrow Comes and A Kind Of Commitment

This is the interview of Pratibha Malav, author of If Tomorrow Comes and A Kind Of Commitment; both books are available on Amazon and some offline bookstores.

About the author- Pratibha Malav

Pratibha Malav belongs to Kota, Rajasthan. Currently, she’s pursuing MBA. She loves books and reading. Reading has inspired her love of writing, which led to the creation of If Tomorrow Comes and A Kind Of Commitment. She has worked at a News Company and A Travel Company.

When did you realize you wanted to be a writer?

I think this is something that naturally came to me. I used to write quotes and short poems when I was a little girl. I loved to read and when my passion for reading turned into writing, I couldn’t tell. However, I didn’t start working on a full-length novel until 2016.

How many books have you authored?

Two so far. Currently, I’m working on a third book which is going to be totally different from my previous books.

Β

What’s your favorite writing time?

This is something I can do anytime. But I prefer to write in silence, mostly at the night.

How long did it take you to write your books?

It depends on my mood.

It took me up to five months to write A Kind Of Commitment.

I finished writing the second book in one and a half months.

How do books get published?

Well, if you ask me, it’s a boresome process. I have worked with three publishers and my experience wasn’t pleasant. So, I decided to self-publish my new book this time.

Steps to follow

(If you’re going through a publisher)-

  • Finish writing the manuscript
  • Approach a publisher. See if they approve your content. You’re sure to face rejections, but don’t give up.
  • If you find a good publisher, leave the rest of the work to them. They’ll do the editing, formatting, cover designing, and printing. (Marketing is something that you need to do on your own)

Β (If you’re thinking to self-publish)-

  • Write the content
  • Hire an editor and cover designer
  • Get ISBN
  • Print
  • List it on Amazon and other shopping sites
  • Market

What advice will you give to new writers?

The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword. So, whatever you’re penning, it should have the potential to touch the heart of your readers.

A note to readers-

β€œYou keep me going when I don’t feel like writing a single word. It’s quite easy to feel overwhelmed with the challenges I’m facing in life, but your motivation and love make me see the purpose.”
