Having started by uploading music to SoundCloud from the year 2022, Brakanah had his first hit on the app at the start of the year 2023 with his hit song Kobe Bryant.
Although it was brought down from the app one week after it was uploaded with a total streams of 52k. With the second reupload also taken down, Brakanah uploaded it the third time although it momentum was not like when it was released. Now enjoying the success of new hit We caught up with the artist to talk about his beginnings, his inspiration and the meaning behind some of his favorite lyrics.
Hey Brakanah 44, how did you come up with that name?
My name has a deeper and spiritual meaning where Brakanah 44 is from (Broken Karma).And the number 44 comes from a deeper understanding I felt like it chose me its more of something I cannot explain but I feel am angelic have a nice human experience.
Describe, How do you live your life?
I think we only live once, just do you be you more everyday and have fun why take that so serious. Yeah life is serious but try so hard just to live you life, for real no bs
Let’s talk about your music. You started your career by posting your tracks to YouTube, then later switched to SoundCloud which is the only platform it seems you put so much focus on?
I been making music with my Bros, the TRN group and we were used to posting to only YouTube, we felt that it was the most easiest and convenient way to reach more people and we did but I taking my music to SoundCloud was the biggest and best thing I ever did for my career, I love the toxic cult.
What are some artists that inspire you to create music?
I was a fan of music before I became an artist. It stretches deep, but I’ve always gravitated towards the artists who were different. Michael Jackson, Kanye West being some of the most impactful artists in my earlier years.
Describe your sound, because some songs from you feel so ease and some so intense
My sound is basically Alternative, Rock, And Hip-hop I can do all other styles but what I basically love more are this, I consider my self a popstar by birth.
Are you under any music label and if so what name, i know it may feel something private but i would you to share a yes or no would still be good.
No, and before you ask why its because I have not signed none of the ones that have approached me yet, I guess that some of there offer is not that good for me and my potential and goals, I know am going to be big maybe be the biggest rap act out of Africa, you see the numbers am the leading followed In East and Central Africa on SoundCloud interns of streams and followers.
